Research
project on a paradigm of body language based computer interaction.
Using a system of depth cameras to analyse eye, hands and overall body posture, the main goal of this study was to explore alternative ways of disrupting traditional 2D media through generative maps that encode the rich information communicated by the body.
Starting from analysing comedian performances to create a new type of encoded media for the visually impaired, the maps were then translated into physical 3D printed landscapes which allowed the reader to gain an intuitive understanding of non-verbal communication: a new type of tactile experience encompassing hand and eyes movement that can also be read alongside existing Braille.
